The Rising Sun Belle River Vintage Base Ball Team will host the first annual Vintage All-Star game on Sunday, May 19 at the Rising Star Casino field on Industrial Access Drive.

Players from the Fort Wayne Hilltoppers, Cincinnati Buckeyes, Cincinnati Red Stockings, Norwood Highlanders, Losaintaville Black Sox and River City Rats will join Belle River in action.

Batting practice begins at noon with Mayor Branden Roeder throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at 12:45 p.m. followed by announcing of all players and the singing of the National Anthem at 1 p.m.

Members of the Belle River team include Bobby Scudder, Mike Seipel, Fred Banschbach, Bobby Hannah, Jess Oser, Cody Parsons, Casey Brett, Dustin Lamkin, Clayton Lamkin, Justin Levell, Bill Dichtl, Mark Swanson, Archie Crouch, Chad Oakes and Dennis Dinkhoffer.

It’s a great opportunity to see the way baseball was played in the 1800’s. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy.
