 Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) go through months of training and testing before becoming certified. Even then they must continuously review their skills and pass tests to maintain their certification.

State Representative Randy Frye and Senator Chip Perfect hosted a Town Hall Meeting on Saturday, January 24 at the Ohio County Historical Society. The meeting was well attended with 35 people present. Rep. Frye and Sen. Perfect gave a brief overview of several bills and answered questions about pending legislation.

Working in conjunction with the Rising Sun Redevelopment Commission and the Ohio County Economic Development Corporation, the city intends to acquire and demolish the following residential structures located within the two sites the Redevelopment Commission has identified for a new housing program: 116 2nd St., 112 2nd St., 111 2nd St., 127 S.

The Rising Sun Municipal Utilities will be shutting off water on Monday, Jan 26 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to fix a water main leak.

Areas affected will be:

Main St. from Walnut to Front Street

Poplar Street from Main to Fourth Street

Fourth Street from North Walnut to Front Street
