The Rising Sun Shiner Pride Marching Band capped off the 2012 marching season with a fifth place finish in the Mid-States Finals on Saturday, Nov. 3 at Shea Stadium in Norwood, Ohio. Playing through a heavy afternoon rain, director Ron Eads saw his troops take a fifth place finish in the preliminaries of the 20 band event to tie the schools highest placement ever in the post-season event. With just three-tenths separating Rising Sun and fourth place Gibson Southern, Eads was optimistic for the final round with the top 10 bands competing.To read the rest of this article please subscribe or sign in |
