The Switzerland County Lady Pacers defeated the Rising Sun Lady Shiners 54-49 to claim the first leg of the Ruler of the River trophy sponsored by Rising Sun and Vevay Newspapers on Friday, Nov. 16 at Vevay.

It was a see saw affair between the two Ohio River Valley Conference rivals as the lead changed hands four times in the opening quarter with Switzerland County leading by as many as six before a pair of Sydney Elliott baskets closed the Pacer lead to 13-12 after the first eight minutes.
