The 2012-13 varsity basketball season opened Wednesday, Nov. 21 as the Rising Sun Shiners posted a 55-44 win over the South Dearborn Knights in Rising Sun.

Rising Sun got the early jump on the Knights as Jeremy Cravens scored 11 of his 15 points to give the Shiners a 16-9 lead after one quarter and made it a 26-22 halftime advantage after the Knights had rallied to lead on a 3-pointer by Weston Taylor.
