It’s been over 30 years, but the Rising Sun Municipal Utilities has plans to increase its electric rates after a public hearing on Jan. 3.

Rising Sun City Council reviewed the proposal from the Utility Service Board at its Thursday, Dec. 6 meeting.

According to utility figures and legal notice (to be published in the Dec. 20 and 27 RECORDER/NEWS), the base electric rate will go from a minimum charge of $4.30 per month to a $7.50 base charge for residential customers.
