It was supposed to be a week of Christmas plays and holiday cheer but this week has become a somber time throughout the United States after a gunman shot and killed 20 students and six adults at Shady Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., on Friday, Dec. 14.

School resumed Monday at the Ohio County Elementary Middle School after community moments of silence at the high school basketball game Friday and in the many churches throughout the county.
