About a third of Rising Sun suffered a power outage Friday morning, Jan. 11, said Rising Sun Utilities Superintendent Shawn Guidice.

“A branch hit the line,” he said, explaining the tree branch knocked out the juice around 7 a.m. City employees replaced a few parts and had the electric service back on by 8:18 a.m.

Affected areas of town included behind the Shell service station and over by Rising Sun High School – essentially west of Ind. 56/High Street, he said.
