On Nov 6, 2013 Windstormers Extension Homemakers met at the home of Jill Elliott. Carolyn Titkemeyer gave the Pledge to the Flag and the Homemakers Creed. The secretary report was given by Pat Morris. Devotion was given by Rose Marie Curry. the treasurer report was given by Rosie Hewitt.

In Attendance: Carolyn Titkemeyer, Carolyn Brown, Rosie Hewitt, Pat Morris, Rose Marie Curry, Cheryl Jaworski, Betty Pavy, Karen Sprague, Kay Rager, Beth See, Jill Elliott, Dottie McKinley and Mary Youngeralong with two visitors Roberta Walters and Deb Tuggle.

Kleenex and cards will be taken to Nursing Home in December. A card signed for Betty Gossman.

Christmas Dinner at Tuggle’s Folly, on Holmes Hill Road will be Dec.10 at 6 p.m. Jill Elliott is in charge of games. Gifts are to be brought for Stealing Bingo.

Exercise classes are given by Shannon Franklin at the Rising Sun Church of Christ every Tuesday and Thursday 5:30 to 7 pm. All are Welcome!

Jill Elliott gave a lesson on “Tips on cleaning toilet bowl” and she reported that if you have any damanged tupperware bowls or lids that they can be sent back to Tupperware to be replaced free, only charge $5 for shipping.

The auction was a good time with lots of great items auctioned. Money raised at the auction will be given to a family in the community that is in need, father has cancer and the family has no insurance. Money raised at auction and money from Coins for Friendship total $450.00 to be given to family.

The Salem Hilltoppers October meeting was held at the home of Wilma Beach. President Judy Riddell led the business meeting. For Devotions, Wilma shared “God’s Love” by Dr. Richard Halverson and Romans 5:8. Roll call was answered by Wilma Beach, Charlotte DeVille, Linda Dilges, Kathy Mattingly, Judy Riddell, Annette Schneider, Diane Schraeder, and Sheila Walton.

Charlotte and Sheila reported on the Madison Retreat. Wilma served cucumber and turkey and cheese sandwiches, candy, nuts, chips, cherry delight and cider and coke.

The Salem Hilltoppers November meeting was held at the home of Charlotte DeVille. President Judy Riddell led the business meeting. For Devotions, Charlotte shared “Count & Compare” from Morning Thoughts. Ten members answered the roll call “Name a historical place you have visited in Indiana”. A lesson entitled “A handy Way to read Food labels” was led by Ginger Stowell. Charlotte served Skinny Cow chocolate candy, mixed nuts, Chex mix, apple crisp with whipped topping and hot apple cider to Wilma Beach, Judy Bramstedt, Lynn Huff, Kathy Mattingly, Sara Richard, Judy Riddell, Carol Schweitzer, Ginger Stowell, and Sheila Walton.

The next meeting will be Dec. 12 at the home of Judy Riddell for the annual Christmas dinner/auction.

On Sept 10, 2013 Windstormers Extension Homemakers met at the Olde Post Cabin, on Front Street in Rising Sun, for club picnic (held inside this year) with members bringing salad dishes for dinner. After dinner a short meeting was held. Carolyn Titkemeyer gave the Pledge to the Flag and the Homemakers Creed. No secretary or treasurer report given

Get-Well card signed tor Betty Gossman and a Thank-You card was sent to Lori Turner for presentation given on “Stroke Symptoms”

Workers signed up to work at the Navy Bean Festival. Homemakers will be selling water at the festival. They will be making muffins Oct. 10, at the Fairgrounds from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or members may want to make muffins at home with supplies at the Extension Office that day.

Collection of items for “Make a Difference Day” Oct 19, 2013 should be delivered to Extension Office by Oct. 12.

There will be a tour of Dinsmore Homestead in Burlington, Ky., Tuesday, Oct. 22 for members of all Ohio County Homemaker clubs who want to go. Lunch and tour $13.

Discussion of club Christmas Party was held. Suggestion given for it to be held at Tuggle's Folly, on Holmes Hill Road. Dearborn Country Club would cater with menu of drink, entree, dessert, salad, and rolls, Tax /tip included $25. Final decision to be made at next months meeting.

The Salem Hilltoppers Sept. 12 meeting was held at the home of Sheila Walton. President Judy Riddell led the business meeting. For Devotions, Walton shared a devotional poem and Ecclesiastes 3:1. Ten members and one guest answered the roll call “ Tell a favorite childhood memory at school”. The new program book was filled out for monthly hostesses.

Members will be baking cornbread muffins for the Navy Bean Festival and working at the Homemaker’s pop & water booth. Children’s clothing items will be collected for Make a Difference Day on October 19.

Members signed up to help fill bags for the Back-pack program.

The lesson “You Can’t Take it With You” was led by Ginger Stowell. Walton served candy, nuts, cheesecake with cherry topping, peanut butter and pumpkin cookies, and a cheese ball with crackers to Wilma Beach, Judy Bramstedt, Charlotte DeVille, Kathy Mattingly, Sara Richard, Judy Riddell, Diane Schraeder, Carol Schweitzer, Ginger Stowell, and guest Gayle Griffiths. The next meeting will be held on October 10, 2013 at the home of Wilma Beach.

On Aug. 13, 2013,  the Windstormers Extension Homemakers met at the Rising Sun Church of Christ and went as a group to the nursing home to deliver boxes of tissues to the residents, and to spend some time with them. They returned to the church to finish the meeting which was opened by Carolyn Titkemeyer with the Pledge to the Flag and the Homemakers Creed. The secretary report wasnot read because there was no July meeting. Balance in treasury was given as $243.11. Coins for Friendship collected. Devotion was by Rosemary Curry

In attendance were Carolyn Titkemeyer, Jan Turner, Jill Elliott, Rosie Hewitt, Pat Morris, Jeannie Sabo, Arlene Uhlmansiek, Rose Marie Curry, Dottie McKinley, Kay Rager, Cheryl Jaworski, Betty Pavy, Bev Tague and Karen Sprague.

Election of officers for the 2014 year are as follows: Carolyn Titkemeyer, President; Dottie McKinley, Vice President; Rosie Hewitt, Treasurer; Pat Morris, Secretary.

Hostess duties for the following year were assigned and recorded in homemaker book given to each member.

A paper passed around for members to sign, for those who are able to help with packaging items for school bags each week.

Get well card was signed for Betty Gossman and a Thank you card was passed from Shannon Franklin and family. Fruit basket was sent to Shannon, money taken from Treasury $20.

Flyer was passed around for a 5K walk, Aug. 17 at the Vineyard Golf Course to benefit a Scholarship Fund in memory of Donald Bowman.

Money was collected for Fall District Meeting in Madison, Aug. 22, 2013. Members planning to attend were Betty Pavy, Carolyn Brown, Jan Turner, Mary Younger, Carolyn Brown, Bev Tague, Cheryl Jarworsky, Rosie Curry and Rosie Hewitt.

Refreshments were served by Jeannie Sabo, delicious Blueberry and Peach Cobblers.
