The American Legion Auxiliary is currently taking applications for 2013 Scholarships.
Eligibility for the scholarships is based on
the following criteria: Applicants must be a member, child, stepchild or
grandchild
of a member of the American Legion, Sons of the American Legion or
Auxiliary Post 59. Applicants must be in their senior year
of high school.
Persons applying that live outside of Ohio
County must be a member of the American Legion, Sons of the American
Legion or
Auxiliary Post 59 for a minimum of two years. Consideration is
based on Character, Americanism, Leadership, Financial Need,
and Academics.
Applications are due to the Guidance Office by May 1, 2013. The local American Legion Auxiliary offers Scholarships each year.
Last year’s recipient was Timmi Elbright. Usually a minimum of two $500 scholarships are available each year.
Seniors should contact guidance counselor Leigh Ann Craig for an application.

Delegates
with these designations show outstanding leadership qualities and
achievements, loyalty and respect, community participation
and patriotism.

It’s that time again. Time to get your child ready to start school. Parents can register their child to start kindergarten
for the 2012-2013 school year on Friday, April 27, from 4 to 7 p.m.

The annual Spring Concert will be held Saturday, April 14 at 7 p.m. at the Ohio County Elementary Middle School.
Admission is $2 per person or $5 per household.
The concert will last about two hours and will feature (in performance order) the HS Choir, 6th Band, Jazz Band, *intermission*,
JH Band, HS Band, Superband.
