This month, the official drop off site during Operation Christmas Child’s National Collection Week, Monday, Nov. 12,, through Monday, Nov.19, for Ohio County residents, will be the Concord Community Church in Patriot. The site is one among 5,000 U.S. drop-off locations collecting shoebox gifts for children overseas.

Southeastern Indiana’s Revolution Futbol Club 10 & Under girls soccer team - made up of girls from Aurora, Rising Sun, Milan and Switzerland County - won the Haunted Classic championship at Beavercreek, Ohio, the weekend of Oct. 20-21.

Lunch for literacy

Ivy Tech Community College and The Hoosier Hills Literacy League are partnering to bring awareness to the importance of literacy through a special lunchtime event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
