Rising Sun Ohio County Schools staff and administrators were very excited to accept a silver rating related to dual credit from the Indiana Department of Education recently, said Superintendent Branden Roeder.

Grants Creek Baptist Church on Grants Creek Road in Ohio County celebrated its 200th anniversary Saturday, Nov. 4, with worship and the unveiling of a monument erected to celebrate the church’s history and the wilderness preachers of early America.

The fifth annual Christmas Train Show put on by the Conductors of Southeastern Indiana Model Train Club offers old favorites and new displays, said club treasurer Ron Lahmann Sr.

Last year’s event drew just under 2,500 visitors, with 2,504 visitors coming to the club’s display the year before, he said.

Around 360 people turned out for a tour of Ohio County’s “Grand Lady,” a historic home few had seen due to its secluded location and private ownership.

When it comes to kindness, OCEMS third-grader, CJ Berkley, has hit a home run.

CJ, the son of Chris and Abbey Berkley, Rising Sun, and Brent and Ashley Turner, East Enterprise, has been donating his birthdays to a very special cause for the last two years. The third grader plans to continue to do so, sharing the love.
