Well, just wait until Amber DePrez opens Hygge Hus at 211 Main St., Rising Sun. The title is Danish, pronounced Hooga Haus, and means cozy.

When Tom Heady, 61, of Arlington, Ind., was a young child, one of his favorite things to do was visit the home of his grandparents, Walter and Esta Skidmore, where he enjoyed his grandmother’s Pink Cows: not a figment of his imagination, but the best dessert she ever made, and one as an adult he hasn’t been able to re-create.

Friday, Dec. 4, will be the last day for leaf pickup in the City of Rising Sun, said Rising Sun Street Superintendent Paul Bovard.
