All-day ride

The Cops Cycling for Survivors Foundation Inc. visited the Rising Sun Police Department Saturday, Sept. 12, to honor their late police Chief David Hewitt, whose life was taken last year in a single-vehicle crash. Visitors were encouraged to join the group for a meal and fellowship. They arrived at the station at 10 a.m. and stayed until 4 p.m. The group, based in Ellettsville, Ind., had several bike rides planned for September, but COVID restricted their efforts. Instead, they brought a truck full of stationary bikes and rode in the police department parking lot.
