State Rep. Randy Frye, R-Greensburg, recently honored Indiana volunteer firefighters with a resolution at the Indiana Statehouse who have served their communities for 50 years or more. Frye recognized 69 volunteer firefighters, including James R. Vinup, Dillsboro Volunteer Fire Department, for protecting Hoosiers. Collectively, they have served their communities for more than 3,450 years. There are more than 800 volunteer fire and rescue departments across Indiana to helping protect Hoosiers from fires, floods and other natural disasters, said Frye.
