Life without parole sought for double murder defendents

On January 3, 2019, Prosecuting Attorney Lynn Deddens filed Amended Charges, including a Notice of Intent to Seek Life Imprisonment Without Parole, against both Cody Booth and Margie Thompson, stemming from the deaths of Faith Craig and her father, Walter Bryant Jr., on January 17, 2018, at their Douglas Drive residence.

Cody Booth, son of the Faith Craig and grandson of Walter Bryant Jr., along with his girlfriend, Margie Thompson were previously charged with two counts of Murder, two counts of Conspiracy to Commit Murder, two counts of Robbery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury and two counts of Conspiracy to Commit Robbery in connection with the deaths. Additional charges of Criminal Confinement, Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Confinement and Conspiracy to Commit Murder were added on January 3, 2019, together with a notice that the State is seeking Life Without Parole as to both Cody Booth and Margie Thompson.

“After sitting down with the victim’s family and listening to what they would like to see happen in this case, and reviewing all the evidence that has been gathered, I felt that these additional charges, and the request for a sentence of Life without Parole, was appropriate as to both Cody Booth and Margie Thompson, said Lynn Deddens, Dearborn-Ohio County Prosecuting Attorney.

An initial hearing will be held on the amended charges with the Dearborn Circuit Court.

It is important to remember that criminal charges are merely allegations and individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty.
